INDUSTRIAL, MARINE, AND SPECIAL COATINGS CONTRACTORS SSPC CERTIFIED QP #3
One of our customers, a major chemical company, contracted our company to repaint 3 paraxylene tanks 180’ diameter. The main reason we were chosen was our award winning safety program. Besides that, our original paint job was in service for them for over 20 years.
260,000 square foot production floor, completed in just sixteen days, was completed seven days ahead of the deadline, allowing early start up in plant production.
LEAD PAINT ABATEMENT
U.S.S Yorktown SSPC Certified
Phillips was chosen to completely abrasive blast and apply a new high performance coating system on all exterior surfaces of the ship. If painting an aircraft carrier isn’t difficult enough, the many years of paint build-up contained lead, which required the following: 40,000 C.F.M. dust collector to pull negative air pressure inside our containments, a decon trailer, and steel grit recycling/blasting equipment. Using steel grit and recycling abrasives saves our customers large fees for hazardous disposal.
Hovensa Refinery in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands
This project required skilled, tough crews working in temperatures over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. In addition to the ambient temperature, they also had to bear the heat of the unit itself, while wearing Nomax suits. These compounded factors made this project very difficult. We installed cementitious fireproofing material at a four hour rating.
