| Feb. 2, 2009 Surprise OSHA Inspection Yields Excellent Results A recent surprise inspection from OSHA ended well for the DuPont Cooper River project in Moncks Corner, SC. The routine, general inspection was very thorough and covered the entire jobsite, said David E. Trent, BE&K Director of Construction Management. OSHA inspectors looked at the tool rooms, connex trailers, lay down yards, manufacturing building, power house, tank farm, waste water treatment and pipe bridge. The results? OSHA compliance officers said they visited approximately 268 sites a year -- rarely without writing a citation. But this time, things were different. It had been a "long, long, long, long time" since they had visited a site that looked as good as Cooper River. The Cooper River site was found to be in compliance in all areas, setting a new standard for site safety and compliance Trent congratulated the site crews... including Phillips Industrial Painting Supervisor, Roman Monne. |
